Laura Vandervoort

She made her debut as an actor in 1997 at age 13. In 1997, after taking numerous courses and carrying out background work on Canadian programs like Road to Avonlea and Harriet the Spy, she got her first speaking role in the Canadian kids' horror anthology Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of The Dark?, both series that aired on YTV. Following commercials, she had appearances as a guest star as in Mutant X, Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story, Goosebumps, Twice in a Lifetime, Doc, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, Troubled Waters, The Dresden Files, along with a handful of Disney Channel Original films (Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire and Alley Cats Strike), at age 19, while attending York University[12] where she was studying Psychology and English. She got a leading role in Sadie Harrison in the CTV Teen drama Instant Star that ran for four seasons. [2][12] In 2006, Vandervoort was in her debut film, a feature titled The Lookout alongside Jeff Daniels, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Matthew Goode, and Isla Fisher. Vandervoort was cast on Smallville the serial drama that airs on The CW. The role she plays is Clark Kent's Kryptonian "Kara Kent" as the character who would later become Supergirl. Her appearances in the seasons 7 and 8 were as a regular season character, "Bloodline". After that, she appeared for another two episodes in the tenth and final season of Smallville. 4. Following The CW and Smallville, Vandervoort was able to film the sequel in the feature film Into the Blue titled Into the Blue 2: The Reef. The Jazzman was her next independent film.
