Zoe Saldana was born on the 19th of June, 1978, in Passaic, New Jersey, to Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldana. Both her parents were both born in Puerto Rico. She was raised by her mother in Queens. At the age of 10, older, she and her family moved towards the Dominican Republic, where they would live for the next seven years. Zoe's love for dancing was piqued while they lived in the Dominican. Zoe started her dance education with ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy.
